Cozy STL Backyard Wedding // emmie + trey

Emmie and Trey’s big wedding plans got cancelled due to COVID-19, so they planned a BEAUTIFUL cozy STL backyard wedding instead! & it was simply perfect.

Their wedding took place on the first sunny day St. Louis had seen in two weeks, so right from the start we knew it was going to be a good day! One of my favorite moments from the day was when I was taking Emmie + Trey’s portraits at Forest Park. Right in the middle of the photos, Emmie starts getting emotional and says, “I just realized these photos we are taking right now are the photos we will be showing our kids someday.” Wow, I just got teary eyed AGAIN just thinking of that sweet & powerful moment! 😭

Later on in the day, things got very emotional again when Emmie was walking down the aisle with her dad. Trey was crying, and it’s safe to say that made every single person there get teary as well! Nothing beats the moment where you realize you are about to marry the love of your life! ❤️

While an intimate, cozy STL backyard wedding was not the way they originally imagined their day to look like, Emmie told me that she now realizes she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. By having a small wedding at her parent’s house it helped them both feel comfortable the entire day, and allowed them to live more present in the moment because they weren’t stressed about the 250+ guests in attendance. As she told me and the videographer this we both got goosebumps; her words were SO powerful and genuine!
